My mother-in-law got moved into palliative care in Boston this morning (sort of like hospice).

I’m on call for 3 months. About 24 of us showed up this morning and I did not get selected. Little cockroach pled out this morning. Call Friday to see if I have to report next week. So we all showed up for nothing. No other cases this week.
Courthouse is right down the road from work, so I only lost 30 minutes. I’ll cut it out of my lunch break.

I got a questionnaire for my demographics to go into the jury pool. I suspect I’ll be considered for a high profile case that’ll begin in December, but we’ll see…

Yeah, feds have you on call for 90 days at a time. At least, out here in BFW they do.

Gotta love it! The one time I had to go to jury duty they were looking for jury for a capital punishment case so roughly 3-5 months

I’ve never been called for Federal Jury Duty, but I’ve been called for local Jury Duty quite a few times, never selected though thankfully.
Hell I got a summons once from the state of Kansas that was sent to my parents address in Kansas in my name, which was weird as at that time I had not been a Kansas Resident for over 15 years and never lived at my parents current address. I mailed it back letting them know I was exempt for those reasons. Makes me wonder how they was able to track down my parents address that I never lived at to send the summons to me, yet couldn’t be bothered to do any research as to where I actually live and see if I was even still a resident of Kansas. I’ve lived in Oklahoma now since 2003.
I now wonder how many people have gotten summons like that and ended up with bench warrants for not appearing.

Chances are I’ll get dismissed anyway. Most of the upcoming federal cases are drug and gang related, all of which my son was either the arresting officer, or the investigative detective. As immediate family, that knocks me out of the jury pool.
