Is there a chat tab where members of the otaku box community can trade merchandise they may not want with each other?
Hi, @Sandman1120 feel free to open a new topic in the Collection corner dedicated to trading -Liz
That would be pretty cool.
Thats a neat idea! I would love to get the previous Rias figure!
I have a different collecting question. I know figures are worth more if they have the original box. I have most of mine with the exception of a few that were sent to me sans box (“to save on shipping costs”), but I am running out of room.
If I fold them flat I’d save a ton of room, but what about the plastic inserts? Is it required to keep those as well?
Meh. I guess I chuck the plastic then. All mine have been opened and displayed.
That’s more for me.
Thanks for the info, I guess it makes sense for some collectors to try and keep their collection as mint as possible. I don’t think I could ever be a MIB collector as I really enjoy taking my figures out and display them, I also pick a figure and place it next to my work desk so they can keep me company during the day.
Yeah I have a couple still in boxes. I’m not sure why. Just do lol. I do keep the plastic in the box just in case I move and if I want to just puttthem back in box for storage. To be fair the more I collect the more I’m saying F that and might start throwing the boxes away. I mean I don’t ever plan on getting rid of any of my figures. It’s just hard to. Some of these boxes look cool too. I’ve wanted to make a display just using the box and throwing some lights in it. I’ll have to diy and show you all what I mean.
I know what you mean, the boxes I keep end up taking so much space I just want to get rid of them… But some of them look so nice I can’t help but keep most of them. I also don’t plan on getting rid of my figures, but you never know.
How do you add images to post? I have pictures of some of my collection that I’m willing to trade
You need to be on the forums for a set time and post a set amount of posts before the system opens up and allows you to UL pics.
On the downside of some of those Collectors who like to keep the figures Mint in Sealed Boxes… sometimes the plastic the figures are made of will sweat in the box and distortion can occur over time… not all figures will, but it can happen…
@0dDbalL1138 I get you, some materials will decay even if sealed in box, such as silicon and pleather. Lots of soft good brands suffer from this.
I buy stuff cuz i like it not for 'investment". I should probably have kept the boxes just to aid in moving protection (have had a couple figures damaged during moves) but for the most part i junk the boxes and the plastic shells
Id invest into a case ment to move figures
I usually keep the boxes as they are so well designed, specially those belonging to premium quality figures. I’d feel bad throwing them out!
