got both my boxes today. I order two boxes, one ecchi with no upgrades, and one non-ecchi with the upgraded figure and a t-shirt added. I do this for my reviews on Instagram, and of course when I used to have a YouTube channel until it was taken down by a troll.
Anyway, I plan on getting to the review tomorrow, just not feeling it today. my thoughts on the box this month so far…
The figure, while is she is well sculpted and has good paint application, isn’t my cup of tea. While I don’t mind sexy figures, I’m not big into nudity. I know I can just leave the cast off cover on the front of the figure but you can still see her nipples sticking out from just above the cast off part. So this figure is not gonna be displayed in my display case. Also is the figure supposed to be Rem in a Yukata/Kimono, because other then the blue hair with the hair ornament, it don’t really look like her since the hair is much to long for Rem, unless they just matured her up some. Also the figure seems to have a sad expression like she is crying, which don’t fit well with a figure with a removable top to expose her breasts, this just doesn’t sit well with me.
As for the light novel, love the idea, just wish it was manga instead. This is only personal preference as I don’t have the patience to sit and read light novels, but manga I have no problem binge reading.
The plant potter will most likely end up being used as a Yahtzee cup instead of its intended purpose as I have a black thumb, lol, but I love playing board games with my roomie while drinking a beer or two. Also one of plant pots was cracked down the side during shipping, the one that came in the non-upgraded box…or should I say bubble wrap bag. (if you don’t get the upgrades you get all your items most the time in a bubble wrap bag shipped to you instead of a box)
The Chainsaw man metal mini cups, will be used as shot glasses, lol. I love them, just hope the paint doesn’t come off when I end up washing them.
As for the artwork, love the image of Cana Alberona from Fairy Tail, starting to realize Non-ecchi is the way to go with the art. I’m not a fan of Fairy Tale but I love the art of this print with the casino feel!
The T-shirt while looking nice, is not something I’ll find myself wearing as it does not fit my fashion sense as a metalhead, but it does look nice.
As for the non-upgraded figure, I got “Kiro” from “Mr. Love: Queen’s Choice” which looks to be a Chinese otome visual novel mobile game, with an anime adaptation. I never heard of it but looks to be a reverse harem type anime. The figure itself is a chibi style figure based on the Nendoroid version. It’s weird they painted his hoodie purple instead of leaving it white, and the undershirt should have been yellow instead of that odd patern.
I did get my bonus Nezuko necklace, I’ll keep one and give my spare to a friend. and of course the wiafu card featuring Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail.
I really hope that cost cutting measure they did with the box where they have a reverse side is a sneak peek of next month’s figure, which is of Miss Bitch aka Irina Jelavić. But for people who hate spoilers, this isn’t a good thing to do, also the figure was just wrapped in bubble wrap this time instead of in a plastic clamshell case for added protection.
Really hoping we eventually get figures of the rest of the girls from Monster Musume, I want a figure of Rachnera, Lala, Zombina, Papi, Manako, and maybe Centorea and Meroune

While I’m all for the ecchi, I had the same thought regarding the choice for a topless character. I’ve gotten 3 different Rias figures and any of them would have been a fine choice for it. Same for the Monster Musume girls. If the figure isn’t supposed to be Rem, then perhaps it makes more sense for whatever character it is.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t go down this road again, but putting more thought into the character choice and pose would be good.

you can report the broken item to the The Otaku Box Support ( support@theotakubox.com ) with pictures and they will get in touch with you, usually with a form to fill out listing all the broken or missing items you did not get in your box. The missing or broken replacement items will usually arrive in an upcoming Otaku Box, usually your next one or the one after.
I’ve had to do this a few time, but the support team is fairly good at getting the replacement items to you!
