Sub or Dub?

Would you say that only a subbed anime is worth watching, or do you prefer a dubbed anime? I am always open to a good Otaku debate! -Liz🌸

I think have there benefits. Though personally I prefer subbed. When I first got into anime back in the early toonami days on cartoon network dubbed was all I knew. As I got older and to be honest the past two years I’m all for subbed. Dubbed just doesn’t sound right,

Yeah, same. Sometimes when I don’t look at my screen while doing stuff around the house, its nice to follow the story as well.

I’m all for dubbed, I don’t get into shows near as well if I have to try to read and watch

I get that, I’m the opposite. I’m more into it when I hear the Japanese voices. All that really matters is we all watch anime.

Prefer subbed as I like to watch with the original voices, but don’t mind a good dub if that is all I can find :).

depending on the quality of surtitles. Edgerunners subtitles were hard to read for example so i had to dub

Honestly it just depends on how much I like the anime. Sometimes I watch dub and realize it’s an amazing anime and I’ll finish, the rewatch in sub

I’ll watch either subbed or dubbed, though I do prefer dubbed. Sometimes I’ll watch an episode subbed and watched the dubbed version to see how the voice works compares with each other. There are some horrible dubbed outvhtetev(anything 4Kids, for example) but a lot of newer anime have decent voice work.

I prefer dubbed because I’m usually playing games on my phone while watching TV. I’ll watch subs, but I really have to focus to keep up.

Both but probably dub so i can listen if im doing something else like building yugioh decks

I tend to prefer subbed as it more closely portrays the message as it was intended. However there are some series where I absolutely love the dub such as Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Since I watch seasonal as it drops, I watch subbed more often than dubbed. But if I like the story or series, I’ll re watch it in dub to look at the art and compare the voices. I nitpick a bit but I love when the English VA’s really shine. Makes me appreciate the art even more. And not to mention, if you’re not fluent, watching anime and gaming won’t go well with sub. So I usually dub and game.

I like both. Some I prefer the Japanese voice actors and some I prefer the dubbed. Some voices just fit better than others =]
