The Rant Board

I agree, but then again fast food employees really have never given a crap. I remember working McDonalds back in 98 when I was a highschooler, I worked the grill area and was good at my job. They hired these other young high schoolers with Zero work ethic to work with me. The manager wanted us to pull the grill and clean up the grease that dripped on the floor under it (The grease trap had a slight leak where it would drip onto the floor and needed cleaned every night) this kids never closed before and took one look at the mess under the grill and said “nope” and walked the F out, leaving me by myself to do everything. I can only think kids have even more lousy work ethic these days yet demand $15 an hour to goof off and play on their phone.

Minimum wage is still $7.25 a hour and in my area $15 an hour is a decent wage. Hell I only make $18.50 an hour (plus tips) at my current job at the casino with 20 years experience with the tribe! Starting wage for just about every position in the casino I work at is $10 an hour.

I can’t complain myself, I cleared about $60k last year, plus I get 6 weeks paid a year, fully paid for medical insurance, and a 401k. $60k is considered middle class and a decent wage for my area.

My biggest rant right now is with the Gas Prices, they jumped up 40 cents a gallon in the last two days!

I know the reason why they are going up to, but I’m not gonna mention it due to it being political in nature. I just makes me so mad!

well considering I started at the casino back in 04 at only $6.50 an hour in a non-tipping position, I’m doing fairly well.

I was making $5.15 at Mcdonalds when I worked there in 98, so not too far off. $5.15 was minimum wage back then.

I remember how happy I was when it went to $4.00. By then I’d quit and got a job as a darkroom tech. Was MUCH happier there. (Who wouldn’t be?)

I get you man! And you don’t have unreasonable standards at all. In fact I would say your standards are helping you to avoid bullets until you find someone who is right for you.

When i met my ex-wife she was petite
5’4" A-cup 120# or less
When we divorced she was
DD 230# no enhancing
She left me!
Her reasons for leaving were rational, but still. I really wish I could meet someone petite who accepts me and my eccentricities, who won’t balloon.

Met my wife as a Junior in college. Twenty years of marriage. Divorced me because she was screwing the 65 year old neighbor (who was broke as shit so she didn’t even get anything out of it.). Divorced him after 3 years. Got with a literal drug dealer 10 years younger than her and is now spun out on meth. We didn’t even drink when we were married. WTF?

Given up on any dating unless it’s an Otaku who actually enjoys the same stuff as I do.

I met my ex-wife at my job, she was petite as well. We moved fairly fast and I moved her in with me quickly as she was broke as hell and literally starving. That should have been a red flag but I was naïve. We lived together for 3 year before getting married and everything was perfect it appeared to me.
One year into our marriage and something snapped in her, and she literally went crazy. She would have crying fits out of the blue, get super emotional or freaked scared out from nothing, etc.
I worked night shift and she was a day shift person at her job, so she would usually go to bed without me when I had days off since we rarely shared days off which did suck. One day she she went to bed around 10pm (like I said I was a night shifter so I was used to staying up really late) she woke up crying and I got up from the game I was playing to see what was the matter. I found my ex-wife on the hallway floor bawling her eye’s out, as I went to console her, she looked up at me like a was a total stranger, then started laughing like a manic before snapping out of it. Scary ass shit! needless to say a slept with one eye open that night.
After some counselling she had to be institutionalized for a couple of weeks in mental hospital and quit her job. We were married so I was willing to do everything in my power to help her. One week after this I come I get a call from her that she cheated on me and was not coming home, while I was a work! Turns out she went to her friends house, her friend was old enough to be her mother and I didn’t much care for anyway. Her friend was seeing this trucker guy and was bragging about how good of a masseuse he was, and her friend had my ex-wife go upstairs and get a massage from him. This is when one thing lead to another and she cheated. I convinced her to come home and we would work things out. Three days later I get home from work to a “dear john” note saying nothing other then “I’m leaving you”. As she left me for the guy she cheated on me with. I made her pay for the divorce and she married the guy a month after the divorce was finalized.
I would have did anything for her and gave her the world, she never wanted for anything, never hurt her or abused her and charished my ex-wife! She didn’t have to work if she didn’t want to as I made enough for both of us.
At least Karma got her in the end. Turned out the guy she cheated on me with, who was old enough to be her dad btw, lied to her about everything. Told her he was fixed, wasn’t and she got knocked up. Said he had a house in Texas, didn’t have nothing to his name. He eventually cheated on her and they divorced in less then a year. The kid she had with him came out mentally and physically disabled. And she got fat. She was now a 3 time divorcee (I was her second husband) with a disabled kid and a history of mental illness. Also about that mental breakdown she had that made her crazy, found out from her dad later (her dad worked at the casino I work out for s short stint afterwards and we had no bad blood) That my ex-wife and her so called friend I never cared for was experimenting with drugs, mainly hallucinogenic drugs, that pared with the mental health issues that run in her family is what triggered her to snap, after her mental snap it was like she was a different person anyway, like I was married to a stranger.
Guess it was for the best that she left me, but it did a number on me as I have a very hard time trusting anyone in a relationship anymore. I’ve had a few flings since then, and one other relationship but she was toxic AF and was an alcoholic.

Just venting…

I’m a single male, and am attracted to females. I am not attracted to new founded females.
I am accepting of allot of people and their faiths, because that is what they believe and how they’ve chosen their life.
There was a question some person posted had asked about some of my choices for waifus. I had chosen those particular waifus because they were the only character that I had seen in a great long while that was purely wholesome as a character concept. I accepted them for who they were and was not attracted to that set of character.
I had been pondering my feelings on this matter for a while. I hope whoever had asked can accept this as a valid answer with no retort.

Different tangent now, but feel the need to get it off my chest as it’s been bothering me for a few days.

I HATE the term CIS GENDER when referring to a heterosexual person male or female.

I understand the term CIS has its origins in science terminology, but it has never been used outside of the scientific community till recently in the past decade, and really ramped up in speed in the past 5 or 6 years. To me it feels like an insult or derogatory term to me, and a way to dehumanize people who are straight by the progressive gender ideology people with their excessive need to label everybody in unnecessary ways so people can feel more special. I had a pink haired person refer to me as a cis-male in a snide way a few days ago for no reason as I was minding my own business, in a bigoted way. As far as they knew I could have been gay or whatever. Why do some of the most hateful and bigoted people seem to pretend to be the most progressive and virtue signal the hardest.

This is what I wanted. Freedom of speech is about saying whatever you want without fear of reprisal from the government. Nobody has a need to agree with you, but you have a right to say it regardless. Freedom of speech is NOT the toxic “pc” bull that has infected our nation. Have at, my friends, have at!

Rant #2: Why are small women in big trucks always in such a big damn hurry? There is nothing more dangerous on the road than a woman in a dualie. You being late does not give you the right to tail gate me. I don’t speed because I don’t want a ticket. If you do, fine. That’s your business, but don’t tailgate me in the process.

I’ll expand on that, what is it every person that lives in town think they need a huge as truck just to drive around town. Sir or Ma’am You can barely climb into the seat or see over the steering wheel, trucks were designed for work, not as a status symbol vehicle for white collar office workers or soccer moms. Then they feel the need to tailgate you and have their LED white light headlight shining right into your back window and blind you with the light reflected off your rear view mirror.
What is with every truck being build now being so huge, and a crew cab as well! Most the newer trucks you can barely look over the the hood or easily reach into the bed in the back, and I’m 5ft 10in. At a certain point these trucks are gonna be too big to drive on public roads! imagine if a small child ran right in front of you, and you couldn’t see them due to how big and high the hood of your truck is when your driving around town doing your grocery shopping and errands. It’s already happened more then once! It’s getting to the point these trucks are a nuisance on the road and may lead to one of two things, a person hit by someone driving them could sue the manufacturer of the truck due to this dangerous design flaw for public roads, or two, A person will be required a specialize license to drive them much like a CDL.
Whatever happened small work trucks like the Chevy S10, Chevy love, Ford Ranger, etc. Ok technically the Ford Ranger is still around, but it’s ballooned in size as well and looks more like a large mid-size truck now. My 94 Chevy Silverado looks tiny compared to the new trucks on the road today, and mine is extended cab and has a larger bed in my truck to boot!
Then there is the price, I’ve seen some of these newer trucks for sell over a 100k, that’s more then most homes on the market! I would never spend that much on a everyday vehicle that will depreciate in value super quickly. And with all the proprietary tech in modern vehicles and trucks, they are much more prone to breaking down and becoming useless faster then older vehicles, and so complex you can’t work on them yourself without specialized tools.

rant over.

Here, here!

In high school, I drove a '79 Toyota Pick-up. Today, you could fit it in the bed of a lot of “regular” trucks. Before that, my mom had a Chevy Luv in that oh so popular baby blue. All trucks have ballooned up in size to the point of absurdity. My grandfather’s '76 F-150 Extra Cab had two jump seats behind the bench. That’s it.

I tried to find me a small to mid-sized truck for work last year and couldn’t find anything under $25,000 USED! Trucks are ridiculous today.

Here’s my thing, if your truck has lights anywhere other than the front or back, goes to the carwash more than once a month, or has wheels more expensive than a new compact car, you do not actually own a truck. You have a luxury car with a really big trunk.

I was lucky enough to buy my old 94 Chevy Silverado for $2600 when I did back in 2021. I can easily sell it for double now. Yeah she is old, high miles, and a few issues but nothing major. I would be cheaper to put a rebuild engine in her then to buy a new used truck these days.

And yes those are decals of Aqua from KonoSuba, A beware of Suu symbol, and a DevilDriver (Metal band) cross of confusion decal on the back window. I stole the pic off Good maps due to not being bothered to go outside and take a picture myself. I mainly use my old truck for going on fishing trips or if I need to haul something as she is a bit of a gas guzzler and with gas prices now it would not be smart to use her as an everyday drive truck. Since she is Aqua Blue in color I call her Aqua and that’s why I have the KonoSuba Aqua decal on her.
