Top anime recommendations?

I’m looking to make an anime list for my husband to truly introduce him into the world of anime. He’s been watching One Piece as it’s a favorite of mine, but he’s been getting overwhelmed. Hoping to give him some options that aren’t as overwhelming and maybe a little lighthearted. So what anime(s) would you recommend?

Vision of Escaflowne for a slow pace mecha story

Ghost in the Shell for action

DBZ for mindless combat

Anything from Studio Ghibli for the greatest stories

Is there a specific kind of narrative, genre, style your husband likes?

There’s a lot, but I’ll list a few:
Wolf’s Rain
Kimi ni Todoke
Soul Eater
Spice and Wolf
Shakugan no Shana
Fullmetal Alchemist
Demon Slayer
The Ancient Magus’ Bride
Sword Art Online
One Punch Man
Angels of Death
Black Butler

Just to name a few. I don’t know his preference for anime, but here’s a variety.

Food wars is another one I would throw in there it to good not to have someone watch

I’d say Death Note. It’s short (only one season) and a completed story. Were mindblowing at the time I was watching. The other anime I find amazing may be too much on the fan, but anyways:
My Dress Up Darling
Evangelion
Cyberpunk Edgerunners

Or you could do movies…

  • ninja scroll-
    -vampire hunter D-

These were my intro to anime.

Sci Fi: Bubblegum Crisis
Martial Arts: Ranma 1/2 (comedy) / Fist of the North Star (action)
Fantasy: Slayers
Fan Service: Shomin Sample
