Pirating is just copying, nothing was stolen as the original still exists, and as long as I don’t sell the copy or give it away, I’m not infringing on your sells because I wasn’t planning on buying it anyway.
It would be like If I thought you had a nice classic car and really wanted it, you decide to you lease it to me but can take it back whenever you want because you still own it, but instead I decide to just buy the parts and build my own instead for my own personal use, you can’t exactly say I stole your car because you still own it but call the cops on me anyway because I built my own instead of leasing yours from you while you still have your car in your garage.
