Same, never cared much for mecha beyond the original Macross or Robotech. Giant Robots are not my think.
Nor do I care for many obvious kid anime like Yugioh, Pokémon, etc. Well Pokémon was watchable for the first two seasons but I watched that decades ago and my anime tastes have changed vastly since then as anime is much more widespread and easily found combared to back then when I watch it. Basically took what I could get at that time.
Isekai, fantasy, slice of life, and comedy is my favorites when it comes to anime these days.

If you like misteries Apothecary diaries is a good one. Maomao solves problems that appears at the palace(chinese theme background) and there’s discussion about brothels and political ideals.
Oshi no Ko is also about mistery/discovery. Basically the MC is looking for who did what happened in ep 1.
If you like adventure and laughing Konosuba would be your best choice (Darkness is blond )
