What’s the luggage thing? I know we make sure to have money bread and a drink in hand when the clock hits midnight.

Well, it is supposed to help your wish for the new year to travel far and long. You can fill or not a piece of luggage of any kind, and run around the corner.* In winter places, you ought to run to the next 5 houses Lol.
And you’re supposed to do this the closest to midnight possible, as long as the night doesn’t end (In my opinion, superstition that does work).

Never heard of the ones you mentioned, but it’s an interesting take.

Coming from a Hispanic background, we have a ton of traditional/superstition methods.

The main ones would be the 12 and 1 for welcoming the new year.
There is the thing, already mentioned.
Another is throwing inside the to bring wealth home.
Sweeping the house from the main entrance to the back door, to throw the bad energies out of one’s house.
… To name a few.

I just watched this epic classic for the millionth time over the weekend. Its so great and well made, it has no boring moment. Did you know that there apparently is a 5 hour cut of this movie somewhere in Disney Studios?
