I must admit, I know nothing of this game other than its existence. The amount of buzz around it indicates its popularity, certainly. However, I don’t even know what platform its on much less anything about game play or story. By all means, fill me in.

The game is on mobile iOS and Android, as well as PC and PS4/5 systems. Apparently, it will come on Nintendo sometime, still unknown.
Now, it’s a gacha-type game, so it’s immensely time consuming. Also, the story and subsequent storyline are magical, intriguing, and wonderfully crafted. (Hence it’s popularity) On top, the gaming mechanics, are somewhat easy to catch on. There’s so much to it, than just typing it out.
However, I recommend to play it at least once. Though, it may take a couple of days/weeks to really see the magic as you follow the storytelling as you immerse in the world of Teyvat.

I’ve not had super experience with mobile games, I must admit. Maybe I’m an idiot, but most of the games I’ve downloaded seem to basically play themselves while I sit back and do nothing but watch. This is obviously outside of demo mode, otherwise I’d have no complaint. Am I missing something here?

Genshin Impact is designed so you can play, like you would on a regular game. Whether it’s mobile or like I prefer console, it’s a fun game overall. As mentioned before, give it a try in whichever format you prefer.
Oh, I was forgetting, the music, which is fundamental to the game itself. You can listen while playing it or you can use Spotify to listen the various disc’s music from all of the currently available 4 nations in Teyvat.

The translation was great, really enjoyed it. Hyped for Fontaine. I’m actually playing only on my PC, didn’t find playing on my phone this much enjoyable (only when I’m on the road and need to do the daily commissions), Honkai Star Rail is more enjoyable on my phone IMO

It’s amazing, well, so far I’ve been up in the sky and land, still have not tried under water mode yet. Hopefully, this weekend.
