Well I don’t have too many more hours than you but have 23 shinies, I’m guessing the 29 is due to evolution

I think you are an exception 
I have never met people who have collected so much in such a time. I’ve collected the entire pokedex in Sword and Shield, but I don’t have a single shine there

They spawn just like normal ones, just the chance to meet one is 1 to 4096. You also need to know what the normal version looks like to distinguish them because many of the shiny pokemon in Scarlet\Violet almost look the same. Also, unfortunately, in the game, there is no sound notification when a shiny is around (as before), so before the actual battle, it is impossible to understand if it’s shiny, except visually. Although there is a way to check if a pokemon is not shiny without engaging in a battle - it’s just to start an auto-battle (your pokemon won’t attack if the opponent is shiny). Shiny chance can be increased using a shiny charm (after completing the pokedex) and with specific Herba Mystica sandwiches (gained in 5 star+ raids)

My friend, knowing that Magikarp is one of my favorite Pokémon, spent 4 whole days catching me a shiny one to make me a gift for the new year. That is some serious dedication

Yeah it’s cool though. Maybe one day we can plan like a TOB Pokémon day and all get on and play together, just throwing stuff out there. I been slacking in playing. Ingot back into Dovision 2 and yeah
